The
military confrontation between the United States and Iran represents not only a
geopolitical crisis but also a struggle over political communication and
strategic messaging. Throughout the conflict, President Donald Trump's public
statements serve as a central instrument of U.S. policy, combining military
deterrence with repeated appeals for negotiation and diplomatic resolution.
Meanwhile, international media presents divergent interpretations of the
crisis, reflecting differing political perspectives and editorial priorities.
Adopting a sociolinguistic and discourse-analytic approach, this study examines
how official statements, political rhetoric, and media narratives construct
competing interpretations of the conflict and contribute to its political
legitimization.
